Members of the BASC Quality Management System Team and Internal Quality Audit Team attended the refresher course on Risk-Based IQA Training and Workshop including its practical application to BASC’s Risk Management Process, held at Cayetano Hall on September 22-23, 2020.

     Engr. Grace P. Daria of SHENDAR International Certifications facilitated the two-day training and introduced to the team the Risk-Based Internal Quality Audit, a capacity building program for IQA team that orients the members on the latest guidelines for Internal Quality Audit based on ISO 19011:2018 zooming in on Risk-based IQA, and to stress system level IQA. Engr. Daria started the in-depth training by refreshing the Organization on the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 Standard, followed by a thorough discussion on Quality Management Systems principles and models, auditing principles, and objective-based, compliance-centered and value-adding audit. 

    The BASC IQA team, headed by Ms. Flerida D. Sayco Internal Lead Auditor, with 19 members composed of selected faculty and staff from different departments and institutes learned the requirements on becoming a competent IQA team and the conduct of adequate and effective audit based on the Standard.

     In December 2019, BASC achieved the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems certification covering Research and Extension, and Instructions. The training is in preparation for the First Surveillance Visit scheduled on November this year.
